Hailing all the way from Alaska, Tiernan started guiding with Wyoming River Trips in 2022. Besides his dashing good looks, he brings a can do attitude, handy-man know how and a love of fun to our day to day life. Always invested in his continued growth as a human and learning, ask Tiernan what he does in the “off-season” or about what new adventures or personal challenges he has planned.
I’m Tiernan! I grew up in Alaska. Growing up with abundant outdoor opportunities fostered my appreciation for outdoor sports and sharing experiences with others in nature. My main jams are backcountry snowboarding, trail running, and of course, white water rafting! While in Cody, I picked up climbing and just started whitewater kayaking. I was originally came to Cody as a traveling snowboard bum living in my van, snowboarding around western Canada and the States. Realizing I should probably get a job for the summer before I ran out of money, I scoured the internet looking for something to feed my outdoor spirit. I knew nothing about Cody so after my initial interview, I googled “Cody, Wyoming.” The first two search results that popped up read “Rodeo Capital of the World” and “Gateway to Yellowstone.” That was all I read and enough for me to accept the job. I loved it so much that I had to come back for another season with WRT!! Tiernan’s recommended trip: The North Fork of the Shoshone
