Landon Rowing with Wyoming River Trips during a row clinic on the Shoshone river. Professional wyoming river guide based in Cody WY

Landon Blanchard

Landon was born and raised in Cody Wyoming where he worked as a professional river guide for 11 seasons and was the Operations Manager of Wyoming River Trips for 3 seasons. He explored his interest in people’s and cultures studying Anthropology and Human Behavioral Ecology at Boise State University. He developed a passion for conservation while working for First Lite and diving deep into the bow and rifle hunting cultures of Idaho and Wyoming.

The crossroads of his passions and curiosity led to a position as community events coordinator at the Wyoming Wildlife Federation. He began blending his conservation efforts, passion for rivers and waterways, and passion for people.  He and partner, Elyse Guarino, launched Wyoming Rivers Cooperative in 2019 with the  goal of becoming a catalyst for meaningful conversation, experiences and action in the lives of others and in their own lives. In 2021 they purchased Wyoming River Trips with the goal of bringing this mission to more people and adding effort to the already rich river culture and guide community of Cody WY.

Landon spends his days, learning new skills, getting out on the river,  researching water issues in the west, planning advocacy outreach, working for AZRA in the Grand Canyon, facilitating learning experiences through Wyo Rivers Co-op, and running the river outfitting business he grew up in—Wyoming River Trips.

Landon’s recommended trips: North Fork Full Day and 2 Day Rafting
